Where will you be?

When Jon E. Taylor was born he was unable to hear and his family was told that he was going to be deaf for the rest of his life. Four and a half years later they were able to find the right doctor and it was finally revealed that the reason that Taylor was unable to hear because his tonsils were enlarged. Surgery was done to remove the tonsils and he was able to hear everything that he wasn't able to before.

"Soon after the procedure I discovered an interest in the sound that music made since my grandmother and aunt were musicians," said Taylor. "They were the ones that inspired me to do what I am doing today.” Piano and organ playing was the first thing he started on then he started writing songs. "He plays a mean piano," said his wife, Sharon Elrod Taylor.

His first song was written at the age of 15 and still continues to do that after 30 years. He said he writes them as they come to him since there are numerous things in his life that inspire him to write the songs that he does write.

Jon is an ordained minister by the Southern Baptist Association. He serves as the minister of music for the First Baptist Church of North Houston. Jon produces all of his recordings personally. He also helps produce soundtracks for individuals and enjoys being able to do this for them.
